City of Fargo offices and public facilities to close Monday for Presidents Day observance

Fargo, North Dakota – Residents in Fargo should plan ahead for several municipal service changes as city offices and facilities close in observance of Presidents’ Day on Monday, February 16. Officials announced that many administrative offices and public service locations will be closed for the holiday, while essential services will continue.

City of Fargo offices, Fargo Municipal Court, all Fargo Public Library locations, and Fargo Cass Public Health—including WIC services and clinic operations—will be closed for the day.

Essential services and schedules remain in place

Garbage and recycling collection schedules will not be affected by the holiday. Residents are reminded to place garbage and recycling bins at the curb by 8 a.m. on their normal collection day. The Fargo Sanitary Landfill and Household Hazardous Waste Facility will remain open and operate during regular hours on Monday.

Public transportation will operate with some adjustments. MATBUS will provide full service on all routes except Routes 31, 33, 34, and NDSU On-Demand service. MATBUS administrative offices will be closed.

Public safety services will continue without interruption. Although the public lobbies of Fargo Police Department Headquarters and Fargo Fire Department Station 1 will be closed, full police and fire protection services will remain active throughout the holiday.

Residents who need city services should plan accordingly. The regular City Commission meeting will take place at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, February 17, in Commission Chambers at City Hall, located at 225 4th St. N.

City officials encourage residents to take note of the holiday schedule adjustments while reassuring the community that essential services, public safety operations, and waste collection will continue as normal.
