North Dakota DOT schedules nighttime closure on Interstate 94 near Veterans Boulevard

Fargo, North Dakota – Drivers traveling through the Fargo area late Thursday night should prepare for a temporary lane closure as the North Dakota Department of Transportation schedules repair work along Interstate 94.

Transportation officials said the work will focus on repairing the cable median barrier along a short stretch of the interstate. The affected area will be the eastbound left passing lane, beginning approximately one-half mile east of Veterans Boulevard and ending about one-half mile west of Veterans Boulevard, between mile markers 347 and 348.

Overnight closure planned for repairs

The lane closure is expected to begin at 10 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 12, and last for about six hours, weather permitting. Crews will be working overnight to limit traffic disruption during busier daytime travel hours.

Officials are reminding motorists that even though only one lane will be closed, traffic patterns will shift, and drivers should use extra caution when passing through the area. Workers and equipment will be present near the roadway during the repair period.

The department advises motorists to reduce speeds, remain attentive, and watch for signage directing traffic through the work zone. While the closure is short-term, officials stress that safety remains a priority for both road crews and the traveling public.
