Structural concerns beneath Fargo Municipal Court prompt temporary relocation to Civic Center beginning Monday
Fargo, North Dakota – Fargo Municipal Court will begin operating from a temporary location on Monday, August 31, as city officials address structural concerns involving the parking garage underneath the court’s current building.
The court will relocate to the second floor of the Fargo Civic Center at 207 4th St. N. The current Municipal Court building is located at 402 NP Ave., but concerns identified in the parking structure beneath that facility have made the temporary move necessary.
Despite the change in location, court operations are expected to continue normally.
People who already have court appearances scheduled should still report on their assigned dates and times. They should assume their appearances will proceed as planned unless Municipal Court contacts them directly with different instructions.
Hearings and other court services will continue
The temporary move is not expected to interrupt regular court services. Hearings will continue, and people will still be able to access payment and records services at the Civic Center location.
Visitors traveling to the temporary court can park in the parking lot immediately east of the Fargo Civic Center. The lot is located next to Fargo City Hall.
People entering the Civic Center for Municipal Court business should use the door located at the southeast corner of the building. Court operations will be located on the second floor.
The relocation takes effect Monday, August 31, and city officials are asking residents with court business to pay close attention to the new address before traveling to their appointments.

The move is temporary while Fargo officials work to determine a permanent location for Municipal Court. The city has not provided a date for when a permanent facility will be selected or when operations could move again.
City officials thanked residents for their patience and understanding while the situation is addressed. In the meantime, hearings, scheduled appearances, payments and records services will remain available at the temporary Fargo Civic Center location.
