Fargo Public Library announces free events for kids and teens during school days off

Fargo, North Dakota – The Fargo Public Library has announced a series of free events designed for children, tweens, and teens. The lineup offers a mix of learning, creativity, and fun, giving families multiple opportunities to participate in activities across different library locations.
Officials say the events are open to the public and aim to provide a welcoming space where kids and teens can explore new interests, socialize, and stay entertained while out of school.
Week of Activities for Kids and Teens
The schedule begins on Tuesday, March 17, with a special program for younger children at the downtown Main Library starting at 11 a.m.. Hosted in partnership with Audubon Great Plains staff, the event will focus on birds and nature.
Children ages 3 to 9 will enjoy stories about birds, followed by hands-on activities. Participants will learn how to observe and describe birds in a field setting and will document their findings in their own birding journals. The session will also include a themed craft activity to tie everything together.
Because space is limited, pre-registration is required for this event. Families can register online or contact the Children’s Services Department at 701.241.1495.
Later in the week, teens will have a chance to gather and relax during a special edition of Library Lair on Thursday, March 19, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the Dr. James Carlson Library.
This event will feature a casual environment where teens ages 12 to 18 can enjoy activities, snacks, and time to hang out with friends. All materials will be provided, and no registration is required. Those seeking more details can contact Anna at 701.298.6960.
Trivia and Easter Fun Round Out the Week
Also on Thursday, March 19, another event will take place at the downtown Main Library from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., inviting teens and tweens to participate in a K-Pop Demon Hunter Trivia challenge.
During this event, participants will compete in multiple rounds of trivia while enjoying themed snacks and competing for prizes. The program is open to families with tweens and teens ages 11 and older, and no registration is required. Additional information can be obtained by contacting Children’s Services at 701.241.1495.
The week of events will conclude on Saturday, March 21, with a fun-filled Easter-themed activity at the Main Library, beginning at 10 a.m.
This open house-style event will feature games, crafts, and experiments using plastic eggs, offering a playful and interactive experience for children ages 5 to 12. No pre-registration is required, allowing families to drop in and participate.
Library officials noted that all events are free and open to the public, though adults must accompany children ages 9 and younger.
