Fargo man faces several charges after violent apartment attack and assault on police officers

Fargo, North Dakota – A 40-year-old man is now facing a long list of criminal charges after police say he violently attacked a woman inside an apartment in Fargo, threatened her life, and later assaulted officers during his arrest.
Authorities identified the suspect as George Roy of Fargo, who was taken into custody on Thursday after officers were called to investigate a disturbance at an apartment in the city. The call for help came from inside the residence, where a woman reported a frightening encounter that quickly escalated into violence.
Violent Assault and Threats Reported Inside Apartment
According to police, officers arrived at the apartment and made contact with Roy at the door. When questioned, Roy reportedly told officers that nothing had happened inside the residence.
However, as officers continued their investigation, they located the woman in a bedroom. Officers observed that she had a red mark on her left cheek, a large bruise on the left side of her head, and what appeared to be a broken left hand.
Police say the woman then described a terrifying sequence of events that had taken place inside the apartment.
According to a police report, the victim told officers that Roy punched her in the head, causing injuries. She said the situation then became even more dangerous when Roy grabbed a knife and began making stabbing motions toward her while threatening her life.
Investigators say the woman also reported that Roy threw a ceramic statue at her head. The statue was described as being roughly the size of a football, and the impact contributed to the injuries she suffered during the attack.
The victim also told officers that Roy made a chilling threat during the confrontation. According to the report, Roy allegedly threatened to inject her with bleach, telling her he was preparing a “last meal.”
The woman told police she believed Roy intended to kill her.
Roy, however, denied that any physical altercation had occurred.
Officers Injured During Arrest
After officers moved to arrest Roy, the situation escalated again. Police say Roy became aggressive toward the officers attempting to take him into custody.
During the arrest, Roy spit on one officer’s vest. As officers escorted him down a stairwell while he was in handcuffs, Roy allegedly continued resisting.
Authorities say Roy then turned and spit at a second officer before throwing his entire body weight into a third officer. The force of the action caused Roy and the officers to fall approximately six feet down the stairwell, sending all three tumbling down the stairs.
Following the arrest, officers conducted a search of the apartment.
During the search, investigators recovered several items believed to be connected to the incident. Police located the knife, the broken ceramic statue, an empty syringe, a used methamphetamine pipe, and an empty bleach bottle in the bathroom sink.
Officers documented the victim’s injuries with photographs and collected the knife and meth pipe as evidence.
Roy now faces multiple charges connected to the incident. According to authorities, he is charged with terrorizing with a dangerous weapon, attempted domestic violence, preventing arrest, contact by bodily fluids, domestic violence, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
George Roy remains in custody at the Cass County Jail as the case moves forward through the legal system.
