City officials announce road closures due to essential maintenance operations
Fargo, North Dakota – Motorists within the city limits should anticipate a series of temporary disruptions due to the beginning of several essential maintenance operations.
Starting from Monday, July 31, a segment of 4th St. N, stretching between 4th Ave. N and 7th Ave. N, will be inaccessible to through traffic. A detour will be established via 2nd St. N and Broadway, redirecting traffic around the maintenance area. This interruption in regular traffic flow will permit specialized teams to perform indispensable milling and overlay procedures on the road surface of 4th St. N. Municipal authorities predict that regular traffic flow on this route will be reinstated by Thursday, August 3.
In conjunction with the above, an additional maintenance project is slated to commence on Monday, July 31. This operation will particularly affect westbound vehicles on 40th Ave. S, with the section between 47th St. S and 51st St. S being narrowed to a single lane to allow for necessary surface refurbishments. Consequently, road users should anticipate potential slowdowns and are advised to plan their travel times accordingly. The restoration of full lane access is anticipated for Tuesday, August 1.
Furthermore, starting Thursday, August 3, a considerable segment of 17th Ave. S, located between 25th St. S and 32nd St. S, will be closed to through traffic. During this closure, motorists will be directed to an alternate route via 13th Ave. S. This detour has been arranged to enable road crews to perform milling and overlaying operations on the asphalt of 17th Ave. S. Normal traffic conditions on this road are projected to be restored by Thursday, August 10.
In light of these temporary road closures, city-dwellers are strongly advised to consider alternate routes and public transit options to mitigate traffic congestion in these areas.
