Road construction work in Fargo will impact traffic on 35th Street North and 15th Avenue South starting June 15

Fargo, North Dakota – Drivers in Fargo should prepare for traffic disruptions as two separate road construction projects begin on June 15, bringing lane reductions and road closures in different parts of the city.

According to city officials, work will start at 7 a.m. on Monday, June 15, along 35th Street North. Traffic in that area will be reduced to one lane in each direction between 7th Avenue North and 12th Avenue North while crews complete asphalt surface repairs.

The lane restrictions are expected to remain in place throughout the work period. City officials anticipate that the roadway will fully reopen by the end of the day on June 19, assuming the project stays on schedule.

Road closure planned for 15th Avenue South

A separate construction project will also begin on June 15 involving 15th Avenue South near 45th Street South.

Officials announced that 15th Avenue South will be closed on the east side of 45th Street South as part of the ongoing 45th Street South Concrete Pavement Repair Project. The closure will allow construction crews to remove and replace pavement in the area.

Drivers traveling through the neighborhood will need to follow detour routes while work is underway. The city said signs will be posted to help direct traffic around the closure and reduce confusion for motorists.

Construction crews have been given 14 days to complete the pavement replacement and reopen 15th Avenue South to normal traffic.

The work is one phase of a larger improvement effort taking place along 45th Street South. The overall project stretches from 9th Avenue South to 15th Avenue South and is focused on repairing and improving sections of concrete pavement that have deteriorated over time.

While the closure of 15th Avenue South is expected to be temporary, the broader 45th Street South repair project will continue for several more months. City officials currently expect the entire project to be finished sometime this fall.

Motorists are encouraged to allow extra travel time, remain alert when driving through construction zones, and follow all posted signs while the repair work is underway. The improvements are intended to enhance road conditions and provide smoother and safer travel for Fargo residents once construction is completed.
