West Fargo announces several roadwork projects for summer

West Fargo, North Dakota – In a recent announcement, the City of West Fargo has informed that a series of asphalt renovation and resurfacing projects will commence on Monday, June 12.

These maintenance endeavors, scattered across different locations, are part of the city’s ongoing efforts to enhance surface conditions and preserve the structural integrity of primary roadways.

Specifically, on Monday, June 12, Center Street — ranging from south of 7th Avenue NE to 12th Avenue N. — will undergo both asphalt mill and overlay operations. The anticipated completion date is Thursday, June 15, contingent on the weather. The access to businesses will be retained, with single lane access being regulated by traffic flaggers. Local traffic will be rerouted to 9th Street NE.

Another segment set to close for milling is Ninth Street NW, from south of 7th Avenue NW to 8th Avenue NW, starting on Tuesday, June 13. Similar to the previous project, business access will be maintained through single lane traffic, managed by flaggers. This area is scheduled to close again on Monday, June 19, for asphalt paving, with the expected completion date being the same day, weather permitting. Again, local traffic will be redirected to 9th Street NE.

Furthermore, Thirteenth Avenue E, located between Prairie Parkway and Sheyenne Street, will experience a reduction in its westbound lane starting from Monday, July 10. Nevertheless, traffic will be upheld in all directions.

These maintenance undertakings, pivotal to ensuring the safety and reliability of our transportation network, are financed via the Capital Improvement Sales Tax. Motorists commuting through these areas are advised to prepare for potential congestion and delays during peak hours. Hence, modifications to travel plans might be necessary. The city encourages drivers to perform the ‘S’ check in construction areas, examining speed, space, and stress levels.
