Lucky Powerball ticket sold in Williston delivers $100,000 prize to North Dakota lottery player

Williston, North Dakota – A lucky lottery player in North Dakota is celebrating a six-figure payday after a Powerball ticket sold in the western part of the state landed a major prize during Saturday night’s drawing.
Officials with the North Dakota Lottery announced that a Powerball ticket worth $100,000 was sold at M&H Gas #34 in Williston.
The winning ticket matched four white balls along with the Powerball number during the Saturday drawing. The winning numbers were 15, 41, 46, 47, and 56, while the Powerball number was 22. Officials said the Power Play multiplier for the drawing was 2.
Lottery officials explained that the original prize amount was $50,000. However, because the player also purchased the Power Play option, the winnings doubled to $100,000.
The store that sold the ticket will also benefit from the lucky sale. Officials said M&H Gas will receive a $2,000 bonus for selling the winning Powerball ticket.
The winner now has 180 days from the date of the drawing to claim the prize at the North Dakota Lottery office.
Additional Lottery Wins Continue Across North Dakota
Saturday night also produced another sizable prize through the Lotto America game.
Lottery officials announced that a player from Grand Forks won $4,000 after matching four white balls and the Star Ball.
The winning Lotto America numbers were 8, 12, 13, 27, and 42, while the Star Ball number was 4. The All Star Bonus multiplier for the drawing was 4.
Officials said the original prize was valued at $1,000, but because the player purchased the All Star Bonus option, the final payout increased to $4,000.
The Grand Forks winner chose to remain anonymous and purchased the ticket online through the North Dakota Lottery’s Pick & Click service.
Lottery Director Thomas Lawler said North Dakota players have seen a remarkable run of major prizes throughout 2026.
“North Dakota has had 50 prizes of $1,000, or more, since the beginning of 2026,” Lawler said. “This is the third Powerball prize of $100,000 or more, in addition to 20 $22,000 2by2 jackpot prizes. Those 50 big wins have totaled more than $900,000 in prizes.”
Lawler also highlighted the recent streak of lottery success seen across the state over the last several months.
“The lottery luck continues in North Dakota,” Lawler said. “Over the past three months, North Dakota Lottery players have won thirteen $22,000 2by2 jackpots, and two $150,000 Powerball prizes. 2by2 has had 763 jackpot winners and 32 Tuesday Doubler jackpot winners since the game launched in early 2006.”
Lottery officials reminded winners that all prizes must be claimed within 180 days of the drawing date.
Meanwhile, even larger jackpots continue building for upcoming drawings. Officials said the Powerball jackpot for the Wednesday, May 13 drawing has climbed to $69 million, while the Lotto America jackpot for the same night has grown to an estimated $25.4 million.
