Fargo mother to serve jail time for ignoring court custody order

Fargo, North Dakota – A Fargo mother, Breanna Ziegler, who was at the center of an Amber Alert, has been handed down a jail sentence.

A court had issued an order on June 28, directing Ziegler to surrender custody of her three-year-old daughter, Beatris De-coteau, to the Cass County Social Services. Ziegler, however, failed to comply with this directive, leading to the activation of a state-wide Amber Alert.

Fortunately, Beatris was located in a safe condition the following day. Her mother, on the other hand, was apprehended by the authorities.

As a result of this incident, the presiding judge handed Ziegler a five-day imprisonment sentence, to be followed by a probation period of one year.
