Motorists should expect delays and detours during sewer work on 9th Street East beginning Monday

West Fargo, North Dakota – Drivers should prepare for temporary traffic changes beginning Monday, August 24, as Public Works crews carry out sewer line work on 9th Street East.
Crews will be jetting and televising the sewer line, a process used to clean and inspect the system. The work will require part of the intersection at 9th Street East and 10th Avenue East to be blocked while crews complete the project.
The work is expected to continue through Wednesday, August 26, although the schedule could change depending on weather conditions.
Detours and turn restrictions planned
Southbound motorists traveling on 9th Street East will be detoured onto 10th Avenue East. Drivers heading east on 10th Avenue East will instead be directed south to Meyer Boulevard.
Additional turn restrictions will also be in place around the work area. Drivers traveling north on 9th Street East will not be permitted to make a left turn onto 10th Avenue East.
At the same time, westbound traffic on 10th Avenue East will not be allowed to turn left onto 9th Street East.
Motorists could experience delays, particularly during busy commute periods. Drivers who regularly travel through the affected intersection are encouraged to adjust their routes and allow additional time to reach their destinations.
Officials are also reminding motorists to use the “S” check whenever they travel through or near construction zones. That means drivers should pay attention to their speed, maintain enough space around their vehicles and keep their stress under control.
Barring weather-related delays, the sewer inspection work and related traffic restrictions are expected to be completed Wednesday.
