Drivers advised of traffic changes through early August as Rustad Lane East and 6th Street East intersection closes for concrete repairs
West Fargo, North Dakota – Drivers in the area should prepare for temporary traffic changes as a section of Rustad Lane E will close for concrete repair work starting Monday, July 27.
The construction project will affect the portion of Rustad Lane E located just north of 23rd Avenue E. During the work, the intersection of 6th Street E and 23rd Avenue E will be closed to northbound and southbound traffic, requiring motorists to follow posted detours.
Officials said northbound traffic on 6th Street E will be redirected west on 23rd Avenue E to allow access to businesses located along Rustad Lane E. Although traffic moving north and south through the intersection will be restricted, eastbound and westbound traffic on 23rd Avenue E will continue to travel through the intersection without interruption.
Project expected to continue into August
The concrete repair project is expected to continue until Monday, Aug. 10, although officials noted that the completion date will depend on weather conditions.
Drivers should also be aware that the project will take place in multiple phases, meaning traffic control measures may change as work progresses. Officials said additional adjustments will be announced whenever new traffic patterns are introduced.
Because of the construction, motorists may experience delays, especially during busy commuting hours. Drivers are encouraged to allow extra travel time, remain alert, and watch carefully for changing traffic signs and barriers while travelling through the area.
Officials also reminded motorists to follow the “S” check whenever driving near road construction. The message encourages drivers to check their speed, space and stress, helping improve safety for both road users and construction crews.
Residents and commuters are encouraged to plan ahead, expect temporary disruptions, and use caution until the project is completed and the roadway fully reopens.
