Fargo Fire Department extinguishes garage fire at townhouse complex with no reported injuries

Fargo, North Dakota – In an early morning emergency response, firefighters in Fargo quickly brought a garage fire under control after it broke out at a townhouse complex, preventing it from spreading further and avoiding injuries.
The incident occurred at approximately 1:04 a.m. on Tuesday, March 24, when the Fargo Fire Department was dispatched to a reported structure fire at 4330 47th Street South. Initial reports indicated that flames were coming from an attached garage at a townhouse unit.
Fire Quickly Contained After Rapid Response
When crews arrived at the scene, they found the garage fully engulfed in flames. Firefighters immediately began efforts to control the fire while ensuring the safety of residents. As a precaution, all units within the townhouse structure were evacuated.
Due to the intensity of the fire, a second alarm was called, bringing in additional personnel and resources to assist with suppression efforts. With coordinated action from multiple crews, firefighters were able to extinguish the fire approximately 15 minutes after the first units arrived.
Officials confirmed that the fire was contained to a single townhouse unit, preventing damage to neighboring homes within the complex. While the response was swift and effective, the residents of the affected unit were displaced as a result of the fire.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported during the incident. Emergency responders ensured that all individuals were safely evacuated, and medical personnel remained on standby throughout the operation.
The Fargo Fire Department deployed five engines and a ladder truck to the scene, highlighting the scale of the response. Additional support was provided by the Fargo Police Department, Sanford Ambulance, and the Salvation Army, all of whom played roles in managing the situation and assisting those affected.
At this time, officials have not released an estimate of the damage caused by the fire. The cause of the incident remains under investigation as authorities work to determine what led to the blaze.
