No injuries reported after a train and semi-trailer collision near Fargo

Fargo, North Dakota – An accident involving a train and a semi tractor-trailer led to the temporary closure of a rail line near Fargo, North Dakota this past Friday. The collision, as confirmed by the Cass County Sheriff’s Office, involved a semi tractor-trailer laden with corn and a train, taking place around midday.

The incident occurred near County Road 23 and County Road 10, roughly two miles west of Casselton. Fortunately, there were no reported injuries nor any derailment of the train cars. Minor damage was inflicted upon the train and the cross arm.

In the aftermath of the incident, the rail line was temporarily shut down to facilitate the clearing of the scene.

Preliminary findings from the investigation indicate that the train was on a westbound route while the semi-tractor trailer was heading south on County Road 23 at the time of the collision.

The individual operating the semi, identified as a young man of 18 years, received a citation for due care.
