Fire departments in FM metro stay busy post July 4th celebrations

Fargo, North Dakota – The fire departments within the FM metropolitan area experienced a surge in activity during the night and early hours transitioning from the 4th of July holiday to the 5th.

Post 10 p.m. on July 4, the Fargo Fire Department was called to address 14 fire incidents. A majority of these calls pertained to refuse fires and were efficiently resolved in less than thirty minutes each.

Simultaneously, the fire departments of Moorhead and West Fargo were also occupied, having to attend to a total of five fire calls across their respective cities.

Preliminary assessments suggest that fireworks or sparklers, perhaps improperly extinguished, might be the root cause of these incidents, igniting materials or reigniting later.
