Altercation in downtown Fargo results in a non-fatal stabbing and one arrest

Fargo, North Dakota – The Fargo Police Department reports a stabbing incident in the city’s downtown area that took place on Monday. The incident occurred in the vicinity of the Salvation Army premises around noon.

Multiple eyewitness reports detailing a dispute in the area prompted the arrival of law enforcement on the scene. Following their investigation, authorities apprehended 58-year-old Wendell Jefferies on charges of aggravated assault.

The victim, whose identity remains undisclosed, was immediately transported to a local hospital. Fortunately, the injuries sustained, while requiring immediate medical attention, were determined to be non life-threatening.

The Fargo Police Department sought to reassure the public, stating that the individuals involved in the altercation had a pre-existing acquaintance. They further emphasized that this incident poses no immediate threat to the broader community residing in the area.
